Camino Cove Camp Grounds Introduce
Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of California's Gold Rush country, Camino Cove Campgrounds offers a truly unique and often free camping experience for those seeking to immerse themselves in nature. This hidden gem provides an authentic, rustic escape for campers who appreciate stunning lake views, serene surroundings, and direct access to the water. Unlike many commercial campgrounds, Camino Cove delivers a back-to-basics approach, allowing visitors to truly disconnect and enjoy the simplicity of outdoor living. It's a place where the natural beauty of California takes center stage, inviting families, friends, and solo adventurers to create lasting memories amidst breathtaking scenery. While it offers a more primitive camping style, its charm lies in this very aspect, providing an unadulterated wilderness experience that is increasingly rare to find. For locals across California, Camino Cove presents an accessible opportunity to explore the state's diverse environments and enjoy the peace and quiet that only nature can provide, especially when visited during the quieter periods of the week.
Camino Cove Campgrounds is strategically located within California, offering accessibility while retaining a sense of secluded wilderness. While the general address is given as "California, USA," public information and customer reviews point to its location being near a lake in the Sierra Nevada foothills, often associated with the Placerville/Pollock Pines area, which is historically rich and geographically diverse. Its exact coordinates would place it within El Dorado County, near Camino, California. A key aspect of its accessibility is the final stretch of road leading to the campgrounds. According to user reviews, the last mile or so is a dirt road, described as "passable." This detail is crucial for visitors planning their trip, as it suggests that while standard vehicles can reach the site, drivers should be prepared for unpaved conditions. Larger rigs, such as 25-foot trailers, have successfully navigated this road, though caution is advised, particularly in the "lower section" of the campground where turns can be tight. The "upper section," however, is noted to be more accommodating for larger vehicles. This accessibility via a dirt road contributes to the campground's rustic charm and helps filter out those seeking more developed, paved environments, preserving its natural feel. Its proximity to major thoroughfares in the region, while still requiring a short venture onto unpaved roads, makes it a convenient yet immersive outdoor destination for Californians looking to explore their state's natural beauty without venturing too far off the grid.

Camino Cove Camp Grounds Reviews
Really nice campsites. Best time to go there is beginning of the summer when the lake is still full, not too hot. My family had a really good time camping here, beautiful scenery right next to the water, most of the campsites here are next to the water. The only thing you must bring when coming to Camp here is water there is no water at the campsites.
Jun 04, 2018 · Pavel A ManzyukBeautiful campground, beautiful view, beautiful lake, just wish I could say the same of the people. Since it is free you get some of the "free people" that have no regard for others around them-loud music, rude and want to fight. These are the weekend people. Come in Monday or Sunday night and head out Friday. Some folks there were wonderful people, it only takes one group. One thing there is cell service and the Sheriff's department responds fast for being in the boonies. Again this is a beautiful area, nice camp sites but avoid the weekend. Also, the last mile is a dirt road that is passable, we took our 25ft trailer in and saw a couple that were larger. The lower section is very tight, so becareful with larger rigs. Ours was a tight squeeze, but upper section was fine.
Oct 31, 2017 · Matti SmithReally great place to go camping only downside is on the weekends it gets really loud with a bunch of drunk idiots. So I recommend bringing earplugs. Other than that it's great place to camp with friends and family.
Jul 13, 2018 · Mike RenoExcellent campgrounds that offer endless views and recreational possibilities. Highly recommended as it's accessible, free, and has basic amenities.
