Cameron Bluff Campground Introduce
For us Arkansans, there’s a special pride in our natural wonders, and Mount Magazine, the highest point in our beautiful state, truly stands out. Perched near its summit, Cameron Bluff Campground offers a unique and highly sought-after camping experience that combines breathtaking views with a welcoming atmosphere. This isn't just another place to pitch a tent or park your RV; it's an elevated escape, literally, providing a cooler climate and unparalleled vistas that make every visit memorable.
Cameron Bluff Campground is an integral part of the renowned Mount Magazine State Park. It's cherished by locals for its immaculate facilities, well-maintained campsites, and direct access to the park's diverse offerings. Whether you're a seasoned camper, a family looking for a refreshing getaway, or a motorcycle enthusiast eager to conquer the area's winding roads, this campground provides the perfect base. It embodies the best of Arkansas camping: stunning scenery, excellent amenities, and a chance to truly connect with the natural beauty that defines our home state.
Cameron Bluff Campground is located in Paris, AR 72855, USA, specifically within the boundaries of Mount Magazine State Park. Its distinction lies in its elevated position, being situated at a higher altitude than much of the surrounding region. This means it's literally "up here," offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat that can often blanket lower elevations in Arkansas.
Accessing the campground involves driving up Scenic Highway 309, a well-maintained but often curvy and winding road that ascends Mount Magazine. While the drive itself is part of the scenic experience, it's important to take your time, especially if you're towing a larger RV. Once within the state park, the campground loop is generally flat and easy to navigate, with spacious sites that accommodate various setups. This elevated location, while requiring a climb, is a significant advantage, often resulting in temperatures that are noticeably cooler than in the surrounding valleys. For Arkansans, it's a relatively easy drive to reach this unique high-altitude oasis, making it a popular choice for both weekend trips and longer vacations, and offering a distinct change of scenery and climate right in our own backyard.

For us Arkansans, Cameron Bluff Campground represents the quintessential mountain escape right in our own backyard. We understand that while our state is full of incredible natural beauty, finding a spot that combines high-altitude coolness with top-notch amenities and thrilling activities is a rare gem. This campground, nestled atop our state's highest peak, offers precisely that.
Locals particularly appreciate the consistent feedback about the "clean, well up kept and good fair price" of the campground. The presence of "nice bath house facilities" is always a huge plus, making the camping experience much more comfortable. And for those of us who enjoy our outdoor pursuits, the accessibility to "all the great curvy roads in the area" for motorcycles, and the "great hiking" options, are major draws. We are also well aware that "it's always colder up here," which is a significant benefit during our warmer months, offering a delightful respite from the heat.
While the thought of black bears might give some pause, we Arkansans are generally well-versed in responsible outdoor practices, and the park's advisories on bear safety are a welcome reminder to follow recommendations. This awareness adds to the authenticity of the wilderness experience rather than detracting from it. Cameron Bluff Campground isn't just a place to stay; it's a complete destination that caters to our love for adventure, our appreciation for clean and well-maintained facilities, and our desire to connect with the stunning natural landscapes that make Arkansas so special. It’s a place where we can truly feel at home, high above the everyday.

Cameron Bluff Campground Reviews
Perfect tent and hammock camp spot near washroom. This whole campground was clean, well up kept and good fair price. Remember it's always colder up here as it's the highest point in Arkansas. We will be back year after year to ride motorcycles in all the great curvey roads in the area.
Mar 31, 2023 · John SheltonPretty campground with nice bath house facilities. Campsite 7 is handicap accessible if needed. We did not see any bears, but it is definitely advisable to follow all of the recommendations by the park due to it being the most populous area of black bears in the state of Arkansas. Firewood for sale at both the visitor center and lodge.
Oct 14, 2023 · Billy HallThis is my second time to camp here with my Motorhome and I love it!! The beauty of the surrounding is breathtaking. It's an awesome place to meditate and refresh your soul. Spent many childhood summer at Cove Lake at the bottom of Mt. Magazine. Now they had activities to do on the lake grounds. The Visitors Center people are so knowledgeable and friendly. I also enjoy their store! Super nice restaurant at the lodge. Will always come back as often as possible! Call way ahead for weekend reservations.
Apr 09, 2019 · Cheryl BrunkReally nice campground and not far to trailer atv to horse camp to ride. Water, sewer, and one I looked at was 30 amp. Had bathrooms.
Jan 02, 2024 · Richard AlewineBeautiful place. Lots of trees with shade. Hiking trails for all levels. BIG PROBLEM. Winds blowing with thick leaves on ground. Burn ban signs all over the park. Yet a FEW campers were allowed raging fires in the morning. Complained 2 mornings. Looked like "administration staff " allowed the fires after inspecting. No rain all summer. Forest fires real possibility. Winds expected to be 25mph. Not sure if we will be evacuating fast.
