Camanche Lake Blue Oaks Campground North Shore Reviews
Camanche Lake is a solid go-to spot for a relaxing outdoor getaway that doesn’t require going too far off the grid. I've been coming here for years with friends and family and it still holds up as a peaceful place to fish, camp, and unwind. The lake itself is huge and has plenty of shoreline access, whether you want to chill, kayak, or cast a line out. The fishing is usually pretty good—caught some nice bass and trout over the years. Weekends can get crowded, but if you come during the week or early in the morning, it’s much more laid-back.The campground is decent—clean enough, restrooms available, though some of the facilities could use a little updating. Staff at the gates are generally friendly and helpful. One of the best parts is the variety: you can tent camp, bring an RV, or even rent a cabin. Also, it’s dog-friendly which is a big plus in my book.Only downside and reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get really busy on holidays and summer weekends, and not everyone respects the quiet hours or picks up after themselves. Trash can sometimes be an issue in the busier spots. Also, the water levels change depending on the season, so keep an eye on that if you're planning to boat.
May 09, 2025 · Joshua BrewerThis was my first ever camping trip, originally only 2 days stretched into 11 days because we loved it so much. The entire staff here is amazing. They all go above and beyond their duties. The Rangers are super nice and extremely helpful, clean bathrooms most of the week. Weekends are packed and the bathrooms get dirty fast. The Marina store has everything you need and the staff here is also amazing!!I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks for an awesome first time camping experience!!
Aug 28, 2024 · Susan GreenIt's was a nice experience and liked the views and the fishing was great too. I would book here again
Apr 26, 2025 · Sandeep KumarWe were in spot 128 and the view was so beautiful. They have clean bathrooms, clean camp sites and overall it's a very nice campsite ❤️
Dec 01, 2024 · Caitlyn PorterThe place said it had a store for ice wood beer etc. You get to the front gate and big signs everywhere no alcohol. The rangers drive by the sites flashing the light trying to catch you. Couldn't even have beer on fathers day. I went to feed the dog and thousands of cockroaches came swarming out from the cement slab of the picnic table. Thank god they didn't get in the tent. The beach is covered in painful rocks the water is on mud so your foot sinks every step and it is slippery like ice. Everyone was falling. And painful slippery rocks in the water. Terrible
