July 13 · John KarstOne of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The paid showers is kind of crazy tho. 1.25 for like 4 min. I get it but it’s takes away from how amazing this place is when you have to take a relay race shower or hobo bath 🤷🏾♂️
June 20 · Christopher EntyGot a tent campsite, sites are near highway and can not be parked near, only directly next to toilets. Showers only available after a 7 minute drive to the other campsite. Friendly check in staff are the only reason this is not the worst campsite I've ever been at after camping for 10 years.
June 21 · Randall HubbellHighly HIGHLY recommend staying here if wanting to either have a short stay or long. It is a decent size campground & has many different offers- showers (only available at the North Shore campground, but is only 5 miles up the road from the Lake Shore campground), coupled bathrooms, water, bear proof trash cans, gate at entrance, lake access, cell service, fire pit & grill, picnic table, a decent separation from neighbors but still side by side. We actually reserved a tent site originally, but our tent is on a trailer that we pull behind the truck & once the lady at the gate noticed she was quick to relocate us to an easier to access spot (the tent specific locations are actually separate from where you have to park your vehicle). Everyone is very friendly & bathrooms aren’t disgusting🙌🏼 we have been here for 4 nights & have seen maintenance in the bathrooms every single morning. If you’re running ahead of schedule, stop by to see if you’re able to either look at your location or set up camp early, because their “clean up” is emptying the fire pit & grill & making sure the area is clean, doesn’t take long, plus every one of our neighbors has been packed up & moved on by like 8:30 every morning.
August 07 · Addie LeeAnnThe views are gorgeous! I camped in a tent in a RV spot the surface was way too rough for my tent and air mattress (just because of the corner lot had better view I stayed haha) but I didn’t notice there were tent spots that had nice tent pads and even wind breaking panels. And very importantly, was the pit toilets were super clean and had air freshener and loaded hand sanitizer. That made my camping experience so much happier! Definitely a great place to camp from the east before heading to Yellowstone the next day. Also, the north fork campground was closed today (10/1) I had to drive five miles back to lake shore. Hope this helps if you can’t decide which of these two campgrounds to choose.Update: because of the funneling effect and lake breeze effect, this place is almost too windy for a small tent. For half a night I was worried whether my tent would stand though the night. Luckily it did. But again, you can’t beat the view!
