The concept of a "campground" here aims to offer a place for respite, tucked away in a pleasant, treed area. According to some visitors, it boasts "plenty of room in the campground sites," suggesting comfortable spacing for your RV. Amenities such as an "on-site washroom with washers and dryers for a reasonable price" and "clean showers and restrooms" are mentioned as positive features by some, indicating a focus on practical necessities for RVers. Furthermore, the presence of a "community room with a pool table" hints at opportunities for relaxation and recreation, suggesting a desire to provide a well-rounded experience. For those seeking "a nice quiet campground" and "great people," Breckenridge RV Campground has received recommendations. However, it's important for prospective visitors to be aware that recent experiences from other guests paint a contrasting picture regarding upkeep and customer service, noting "zero upkeep at this site" and "bathrooms are disgusting." This suggests that experiences may vary significantly, and it would be prudent for visitors to consider their priorities when choosing this campground.
For Tennesseans, finding a suitable RV "campground" often involves balancing location, amenities, and overall experience. Breckenridge RV Campground positions itself within the scenic Cumberland Plateau, an area known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities. The appeal lies in its potential to be a quiet base camp for exploring the region. While some aspects, such as the tranquility and spacious sites, appear to be consistent highlights, it's clear that guests have had vastly different experiences concerning maintenance and staff interaction. This dichotomy underscores the importance of setting expectations and perhaps verifying current conditions directly with the campground prior to a long-term stay, especially given the feedback on upkeep and customer service. For short-term stays, the quiet, wooded setting might still appeal to those prioritizing solitude and a natural environment over extensive or meticulously maintained facilities.

On one hand, its potential as a "nice quiet wooded area" with spacious sites and a community room can be appealing for those seeking a tranquil escape from city life. For short-term stays, particularly for individuals or couples who are self-sufficient with their RV amenities, the quiet setting might align with their preferences.

Breckenridge RV Campground Reviews
Great campground tucked away in a nice quiet wooded area. Plenty of room in the campground sites. On-site washroom with washers and dryers for a reasonable price. Clean showers and restrooms. They even have a community room with a pool table. Which will be sure to try out next time when we come. Great people would highly recommend if you're looking to get away in a nice quiet campground.
Apr 28, 2025 · paul eppleyThis place was a huge disappointment. There is zero upkeep at this site. We were there for a little under a month and they only cleaned the bathrooms one time. They charge per animal and per car, even if all vehicles fit on your site. The dog park isn’t maintained, and unlike the other campgrounds nearby they don’t have bags for your dogs either. The gate was broken and I would need to rake leaves and push stuff out of the way to get it to close.Their site map states that there’s no trash pickup but that there’s plenty of trash cans around the site, which isn’t true. There is one trash can near the bathrooms and other than that it’s just the one dumpster. The trash cans aren’t even emptied very often so you have to walk to the dumpster, which is hard in the winter due to all the ice.The bathrooms are disgusting. They really don’t clean them at all. The showers are very dirty and there’s hair everywhere. The only positive is they were thankfully very warm.Laundry is very expensive. $5 to do a full load. It’s better to just drive into town. The staff are not helpful. Most of the time you walked into the front and it just felt like you were bothering them. Most campground have very friendly hosts who are great during your stay. This one wasn’t a host, just a guy in the front office. He went back and forth from being incredibly rude to very chatty. One thing to keep in mind during the winter is that snow plows don’t reach the roads near here. That’s not the campgrounds fault just something to keep in mind if you’re visiting during winter. This place is crazy expensive to not even have basic upkeep. I would not recommend to anyone. Literally any other campsite will end up being cheaper and 10xs nicer. There is literally ZERO effort to maintain this place but you’re paying for every little extra thing possible.**********replying to comment************George- we stayed with you for that long because the roads were so icy. That is not the campgrounds fault just how it is. Our original reservation was for two weeks not one day. It’s really quite surprising how you even messed that part up. The campground should not even allow online reservations since you do not have the ability to check them in your system, which you said, and because you couldn’t figure out how to let us pay our remaining balance in person instead of on the phone. we had so many charges from you because you couldn’t charge us for the remaining balance after our online Payments. And I kept trying to do it online to avoid talking to you! You like to argue and lecture for no reason! When I came in asking what the laundry code was you said it was in the map. When I showed you the map and said there’s no code for laundry only for the bathrooms you just argued with me even though it’s literally on a piece of paper not me making it up!We even talked about how laundry was expensive there. You said it was $3 to use the washer and $2 for the dryer. Which equals $5. You said you increased it to that price because they were brand new and you were trying to make up for those costs. You said you didn’t even use them you went into town to use them because it was cheaper and you could use the big machines. The gate for the dog park was manageable but it shouldn’t have to be manageable it should just work easily. Guests shouldn’t have to move things out of the way and lift the gate for it to work.Anyways if anyone going to stay here is planning on it good luck. Maybe summer is better.
Feb 22, 2025 · Adriana MunsonA nice quiet campground off the beaten path, roughly 30 minutes south of Crossville, Tenn. Not very big, but plenty of places for big and small campers (travel trailers, 5th wheels, motorhomes). There is a catch and release lake nearby. Bathrooms are clean, and there is a laundry. We camped with a F-150 and travel trailer and would camp here again
Apr 08, 2025 · David WolfeThis was our second time staying at this campground and enjoyed it even more this time around. The managers are so friendly, helpful and just awesome, down to earth people. They keep the park running smoothly, beautiful and well maintained. The bathrooms were always clean with plenty of hot water for a shower and the laundry room too, even though we didn't do laundry it's nice to see they still accept coins! Our RV site was pretty level and quite shaded this time in the same site as we were a month before. We feel at home in this park and could see ourselves staying longer maybe even annually. We spoke with several full-time residents who were friendly and made us feel welcome. We recommend anyone traveling in the area to stop and stay awhile.Thank you guys for being there!
May 24, 2024 · John EThe name is very misleading, this campground is not on a lake, in fact you have to pay $5 for a key to drive a few miles down a road, to open a gate to see the lake. I asked if there was anything to do, and the owner said no. This place also says resort in the name, this is the farthest thing from a resort. No pool, jacuzzi or activities. In fact it’s just a few full timers, and a single wide trailer as a clubhouse. There was major construction behind our camper. It’s 20-30 minutes to get to anywhere, also charged me a fee, per dog, per day. For them to be in our camper! I’m going on my 6th year of summer RVing and I’ve never had a campground charge me for my own dogs, in my own camper. In my opinion they’re just trying to get as much out of you as possible. They know that the sign is very misleading. I wouldn’t stay there again!
