Bonnaroo group campsite Introduce
Hello, Tennessee music enthusiasts and seasoned festival-goers! If you've ever dreamt of attending a major music festival with your entire crew, ensuring everyone stays together and enjoys a seamless experience, then Bonnaroo's Groop Campsite is specifically designed for you. Located on the iconic "Farm" in Manchester, TN, Bonnaroo's Groop Camping program takes the communal spirit of the festival to the next level, providing dedicated space and flexibility for large groups of friends to truly make their mark on this legendary event. For locals who love to rally their friends for an unforgettable adventure, understanding the benefits of Groop Camping is key to unlocking the ultimate Bonnaroo experience.
While individual camping options at Bonnaroo are fantastic, Groop Camping focuses on eliminating the logistical headaches often associated with coordinating a large group's arrival and campsite setup. It ensures that no matter when individual members of your "Groop" arrive, your collective space is reserved and waiting, ready for you to build your festival home away from home. As one happy customer simply put it, "Groop campsite is good. 👍 happy roo." This dedicated group experience is about more than just a plot of land; it's about fostering deeper connections, shared memories, and a truly integrated festival journey right here in our vibrant state of Tennessee.
Bonnaroo's Groop Campsite is part of the larger Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival grounds, often referred to as "The Farm," located generally around 263 Powers Road, Manchester, TN 37355, USA. This address places it squarely within the sprawling festival site, which transforms into a temporary city each year. Manchester is conveniently situated off Interstate 24 in Middle Tennessee, providing relatively straightforward access from major cities like Nashville and Chattanooga. However, during the festival period, traffic management is in full effect, and attendees should anticipate significant delays as thousands converge on the site.
The key advantage of Groop Camping's location is its pre-assigned space. Unlike general admission camping where spots are typically first-come, first-served, Groop Campsites are designated areas within the campgrounds, allowing for staggered arrivals. This means individual members of your group don't have to caravan together or arrive at the same time; they simply need to know their Groop's name. While the exact distance from Groop Camping areas to Centeroo (the main stage area) can vary from year to year depending on the specific layout, these areas are always integrated within the larger festival grounds, often noted for their manageable walk to key areas like the Grove or plazas. This central location and guaranteed space make accessibility for large groups significantly smoother compared to other camping options.
Bonnaroo's Groop Camping provides specialized services tailored for large group coordination, complementing the general amenities available across The Farm:
- Dedicated Group Camping Area: Your Groop receives a specific, pre-assigned plot of land large enough to accommodate all registered members, regardless of individual arrival times. The size of the space scales with the number of registered "Groopies."
- Flexible Arrival Times: Unlike some other camping passes that require specific arrival days, Groop campers have the option of arriving any day starting Tuesday of the festival week, without needing to select a specific day in advance. This is a major convenience for large groups with varying schedules.
- Car Passes Allocation: Groops receive one car pass for every three people in the Groop, with the Groop Leader responsible for distributing these to members before the festival. This encourages carpooling while ensuring adequate vehicle access to the group's designated area.
- Proximity to Amenities: Groop Camping areas are typically located within a reasonable walk of essential festival amenities, including:
- Portable Toilets: Widely available throughout the Groop Camping section.
- Showers: Public showers are usually available for a fee at nearby campground plazas.
- Ice: Vendors selling ice are typically accessible within or near Groop Camping.
- Hydration Stations: Free water refill stations are available nearby to help campers stay hydrated.
- General Stores: For quick purchases of forgotten essentials.
- Communal Spaces: While individual groups create their own camp setups, the Groop Camping area itself fosters a collective atmosphere, often leading to shared resources and spontaneous interactions between neighboring Groops.
- Direct Entry for Group Members: Each member of the Groop can arrive separately and be directed to the designated group spot once they know their camp nickname. This eliminates the need for large convoys or waiting outside gates.
Groop Camping at Bonnaroo offers several distinct features and highlights that enhance the overall festival experience for groups:
- Guaranteed Togetherness: The most significant highlight is the assurance that your entire group will be able to camp together in one contiguous space, eliminating the stress of trying to find adjacent spots in general admission.
- Enhanced Space: Groops receive a large plot of land (e.g., a minimum Groop of 24 people might get an 80' x 40' space), allowing for creative camp setups, communal lounge areas, and sufficient room for tents, canopies, and vehicles. This allows for dedicated "living spaces" separate from individual sleeping tents.
- Customization Potential: With a larger, reserved space, Groops can go all out with their campsite decorations, themed areas, and communal amenities, truly making their camp a "destination" within The Farm.
- Strong Community Building: Groop Camping inherently fosters a deeper sense of community not just within your own group, but also with neighboring Groops. This leads to shared experiences, potlucks, and a more robust social atmosphere.
- Organized Logistics: The "Groop Leader" system and pre-allocated passes simplify the complex logistics of getting a large number of people and vehicles onto the farm and settled in one spot.
- Strategic Location (often): While locations vary, Groop Camping is typically well-situated within the larger festival grounds, offering reasonable walks to Centeroo, other plazas, and often the Grove.
- Ability to Arrive Separately: This is a huge convenience, as individuals from different locations can arrive at their leisure, knowing their spot is secure.
- Less Stressful Arrival: Not having to caravan or rush for a prime spot significantly reduces arrival day stress for large groups.

For Tennessee residents, Bonnaroo's Groop Campsite offers an unparalleled festival experience, perfectly tailored for those who cherish shared adventures with their friends. As locals, we understand the magnetic pull of Bonnaroo, and the Groop Camping option transforms the logistical challenge of bringing a large crew to "The Farm" into a seamless and highly rewarding endeavor. It's truly a "good" option for those who want to ensure their "happy Roo" is spent entirely alongside their chosen community.
The primary advantage for Tennesseans is the guaranteed collective space. No more worrying about arriving at the same time or scrambling to find adjacent spots in general admission. This fosters deeper bonds and creates lasting memories right here in our home state.
While the "VIP experience" amenities might fluctuate, the core value of Groop Camping lies in its fundamental offering: keeping your people together. This benefit far outweighs any minor shifts in ancillary perks, especially for a large group. The ability for individuals to arrive flexibly, and the strategic location within the festival grounds, ensure that your group can focus on radiating positivity and enjoying the music, art, and vibrant culture that defines Bonnaroo. For any local group aiming for the most organized, connected, and ultimately unforgettable Bonnaroo adventure, the Groop Campsite is not just suitable – it's practically essential.

Bonnaroo group campsite Reviews
The VIP experience in my opinion just wasn't worth it this year. The nicer bathroom trailers were gone. Everyone had to pay $10 for a shower, whereas before with VIP's it was included in the price of your ticket. So what are the perks of VIP? A few separate viewing areas,? Even those sucked! You can't bring your own regulation chairs anymore, they have a barrier instead of the entire area being fenced off. Security at some times didn't notice people sneaking in from General Admission. And instead of people chilling in the chairs provided or going down in front or off to the side to dance, some stood up or blocked the aisle entirely and staff did nothing even though numerous complaints could be heard throughout the crowd.
