Bluffton Resort and Bar Reviews
On Friday March 28, we did not go to Bluffton Resort and Bar to camp or kayak. We went there to enjoy the “World’s Best Fish Basket” as promoted on the local radio station. The drive to Bluffton through the rolling landscape of bluff country and along the upper Iowa River sets the stage for a perfect evening with friends and family and even strangers. We enjoyed the two large crispy fried cod,, crinkled fries, and yummy coleslaw. It was obvious that the fish and fries were fresh because they were hot.The bar was your traditional small town Midwestern bar. Nothing fancy but lots of fun especially for people watchers.Even through they were busy the servers and cook were attentive, fun, and kind. My kind of people. The customers were also kind and helpful. It was the perfect place to hang out on a Friday night.
Mar 29, 2025 · Charlene Corson SelbeeGreat camping spot. Big sites. Right on the water.Great food at the bar as well.
Jul 02, 2025 · Zach SoineyRented kayaks for a 4 hr float on beautiful stretch of the Upper Iowa River. They shuttled us upstream with our rented gear and then we floated/paddled downstream back to campground. Very nice people and efficient operation. Definitely recommend.
Jun 23, 2024 · AndyI can't recommend this enough. Large beautiful campground that was well maintained. The porto-johns were immaculate. Andre at the bar was super helpful making sure that we were set up.Unfortunately the river was higher and faster than my daughter was comfortable with so I can't rate the ferry service and kayaks. That said if it was anything like the rest of the service I expect it would be excellent and I plan to come back and try again another day.
Jun 10, 2024 · Mike SkidmoreWe camped there this past week from Tuesday thru Friday. There were not alot of other campers there at this time. It is a very well kept campground. We had a campsite right next to the river with views of the bluffs and the sounds of the water. I would recommend one of their kayak or canoe trips to take in all the beauty of the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this campground and look forward to a return trip in the fall.
