Aug 13, 2022 · Karin FeldkampHeron Lake is higher than a year ago in September 2022.It was at that time that the problem with the water began. One year has passed and they have not fixed it, look how old the sign is!Careless management that does not care about the Park users! Shame on them.Look at the trash bins overflowing!
Jul 12, 2023 · Armando VillaBlanco is a beautiful big rig campground in Heron Lake State Park. Every site has electric and water. The cost is only $14 a night - the same as all the NM State Parks! It's a great deal. The sites are large and surrounded by trees making them feel very private. There's a trail that takes you to the lake. There are 7 - 8 first-come sites located at the end of the loop.UPDATE 2023 - There are no first-come sites in Blanco loop anymore. The park is all reservations now. There's also no water in the park. We bought our water at a local RV Park. There are gnats here now that descend on you in a minute if you sit outside. You need a fire to keep them away. Never had that before. No Camp Host. The other 2 state parks we've been to this year have been the same. No Camp Host and no first-come sites. Everything is done online now and I don't think we'll be back.
Jun 24, 2023 · Karen KrawczykReally nice campground if you need water & electricity. No views of the water. If you want that view, you'll have to forgo water & electricity. Crowded on weekends, so reserve in advance. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of soap and showers.
Jul 04, 2019 · Rachel MaurerNice spaced campsites. Lake currently LOW. Have electric & water on site. Although little to do in the area in off season times.
