Great first come, first serve Campground. Lots of trees and each campsite have picnic tables, fire rings, and charcoal grills. There is one road in and out. The road at the entrance is a low water bridge crossing. Beware Crossing if there has been a lot of rain. The Springs are nice and refreshing. This area is also used as a daytime recreational swim area and does get busy. The campsite is $15 a night, has handicap parking near the bathroom, and has shower building. I would say most Camp spots are handicapped accessible - Bay Dreamer

Blanchard Springs Campground is nestled within the beautiful Ozark-St. Francis National Forests, an area renowned for its rugged beauty, clear streams, and abundant wildlife. This campground provides a fantastic base for exploring the rich tapestry of activities available in the region, from world-class caving to tranquil hikes and refreshing swims. What sets this campground apart is its unique blend of first-come, first-served availability for many sites, coupled with the security and peace of mind that comes with a well-maintained Forest Service facility. The glowing review from a family who experienced a significant rain event, praising the "Blanchard Springs Parks and Recreation team" for their assistance, highlights the dedication to visitor safety and satisfaction.

Camping at Blanchard Springs is more than just setting up a tent or parking an RV; it's an invitation to immerse yourself in an active, living landscape. Imagine waking up to the sound of the springs, exploring magnificent underground formations, and cooling off in crystal-clear creek waters. The "lots of trees" and "extremely private" hike-in sites mentioned by visitors paint a picture of secluded tranquility, making it an ideal destination for those seeking genuine peace in the Arkansas wilderness. Let’s delve into the specific details that make Blanchard Springs Campground a top choice for your next outdoor getaway.

Blanchard Springs Campground is beautifully situated at Fifty-Six, AR 72533, USA, placing it deep within the scenic Ozark National Forest. More precisely, the campground is part of the larger Blanchard Springs Recreation Area, which is accessed via Highway 14, making it identifiable for those traveling through north-central Arkansas. While the address might seem general, it accurately reflects its natural, forested setting away from urban centers.

Accessibility to Blanchard Springs Campground involves navigating a well-maintained but potentially challenging entrance. As noted by a reviewer, "There is one road in and out. The road at the entrance is a low water bridge crossing. Beware Crossing if there has been a lot of rain." This feature, while adding to the adventurous spirit of the location, requires campers to be mindful of weather conditions, especially after heavy rainfall, which can cause the bridge to flood. However, the Forest Service team has proven to be incredibly helpful in such situations, as evidenced by a camper's experience during a flash flood.

Once inside the recreation area, the campground is generally easy to navigate. The sites are spread out amidst "lots of trees," providing a natural and spacious feel. For those with RVs, it's important to note that while RVs and camping trailers up to 32 feet are allowed, there are no electric or other hookups directly at the sites; however, a dump station is available. The various loops and spurs are well-defined, making it straightforward to find your reserved or first-come, first-served spot.

Beyond the campground, the location offers immediate access to the famed Blanchard Springs Caverns Visitor Center, the refreshing Blanchard Springs itself (used as a popular swimming area), and numerous hiking and biking trails, including access to the extensive Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail system. This close proximity to key attractions means campers can enjoy a variety of activities without extensive travel once they’ve set up camp.
