For local families who prioritize a vibrant, kid-centric environment and the opportunity for their children to socialize and participate in organized activities, Blackhawk Campground has historically offered a compelling appeal. The presence of numerous other families and a dedicated activity center creates a setting where children can thrive and form connections, which is a major draw for many parents looking for a lively summer experience close to home.
However, the recent negative feedback regarding staff demeanor, facility maintenance (particularly water quality and pool conditions), and after-hours availability cannot be overlooked. This allows for less travel time and more time enjoying the camping experience, whether it's for a weekend visit or a longer seasonal stay. Blackhawk Campground Reviews
My family and I absolutely love it here. We have family that owns their campers and we come to visit for 1-2 weeks every summer. The kids love the pool, playground and mostly the activity center. There are so many families with kids that come, that my kids are never bored.
Jun 28, 2025 · Tea PriceIf I could rate this campground a zero, I would. The staff is EXTREMELY rude and their “deluxe” cabin is anything but. The water smelled horrible, we didn’t have adequate bedding or towels, and the toilet ran constantly and would only flush periodically. Staff is nonexistent after 7:00 pm and wasn’t available until 10:00 am the next day. The pool is falling apart and the kiddie pool was closed completely. This place has really gone downhill since the new owners took over. I highly suggest you look elsewhere for a decent camping experience.
Jun 16, 2025 · A Google UserThis campground was absolutely ridiculous! We got kicked out because of their VERY STRICT noise ordinance. After 11pm you can't even sit outside around the campfire and talk!! We had three families in the cabins and we were not loud or obnoxious by any means!! What a way to spend a Father's Day weekend with our family from out of town. The water in the cabin smells so horrible! We were gagging and wouldn't even wash our hair/face in the bathroom. We used bottled water. The staff was rude, berating our family and just absolutely pathetic! DO NOT GO HERE!
