Black House Mountain Campground Reviews
Although the campground is a good one, there is management on site most of the time we have been here. The worst part about it is that 80% of the trails are closed to OHV vehicles. No mention of that in the campground info.
Jun 22, 2025 · Jay BeebeSeen the most amazing views as the leaves are changing colors for fall weather. Black House Mountain campground was fantastic. Nice and clean and the staff are true sweet people. They are willing to help anyone out and not nickel and dime people. Thanks for an awesome stay!!

Apr 30, 2025 · Brandon GlancyThis place lacks ethics and integrity. A group of my family and friends had a trip planned to Pickett and after hearing of the shutdown of the riding area we called the campground where our reservations were to find out if we should expect the shutdown to extend into our reservation date. We were assured the campground would call the guests and work with them to cancel their reservations "if" that were to happen. On 9/20/24 it was announced that the shutdown would extend to February of 2025. We called this campground the next morning 27 days before our trip and tried to cancel our reservations only to be met with a strict enforcement of their 30 day cancellation policy (50% refund). This cost my family and friends between $600-$700 and we still had to find another destination/campground and come out of pocket for the costs.Save your money and go elsewhere and drive further if you have to in order to avoid small businesses that don't stand behind their word or do the right thing.
