Birches Lakeside Campground Reviews
I have been camping here at the Birches Lakeside campground for the past 10 years. Since the new owners took over every year, there is always some type of major improvement. It could be maintaining the roads, new playgrounds for the children, New poly docs. The staff are courteous and always happy to help out with anything or issues that arise. It is truly a family oriented campground. Many activities to keep the kids busy but also the owners work hard to have entertainment for adults. This past summer they had 2 Amazing bands that were from out of town. One from Nashville and the other from FL. That doesn’t include the local bands they hire and food trucks.one of my favorite places to spend time by the beautiful lake in Maine.
Dec 09, 2024 · BethI began going to the campground 5 years ago and go back every year since. I have a grandson on the autism spectrum who is often antisocial. At Birches, he is comfortable April and Phil are very kid friendly and make sure there are train rides around the grounds and arts and crafts. He loves fishing from the dock. Riding in the boat, and playing on the beach. My husband and I love the comfort that feels like home, very clean and well kept and the friendly campers all around us. We now have other family members that come the same week. In fact, in 2025, we have family coming from Texas and Maryland so are renting 3 additional cottages. I would highly recommend Birches Lakeside to anyone looking for a lake vacation in a place that feels like home, surrounded by friends and family, with beautiful views across a vast lake, and many activities available.#lovebircheslakeside
Dec 08, 2024 · Judith GaudetA very well run and family oriented campground. Plenty of activities for the kiddos including crafts and 2 playgrounds. Lots to do for the adults too, as the location is on a large clean freshwater lake. For the fishermen, the lake has brown trout, pike and bass to name a few. Campground is very clean and neat, they even pick up your trash at your site!!! What a great service. Staff is friendly and will help you with anything they can. The Store has pretty much anything you’ll need and plenty of treats too!!! The cafe has great food, if you don’t feel like cooking!! Merilda make you a great pizza!!! This is my favorite place to be in the summer!!!
Dec 09, 2024 · Rene BoucherOwner is needs to get his stuff together. Cabins are ancient, no ceilings in the room, all the pictures on google are so old the structures do not exist anymore. False advertising. No amenities. Everything fails. The couch was so absolutely filthy, my family would not sit on it. The water flow from shower was non barely flowing. There’s nothing to do for the family outside of a plastic playground which they won’t even show online, as they still advertise they’re nice wooden. They had one floating dock whereas the pic shows 4 on google. On family was staying on it and no one else could use it. The docks where the kids go fishing were literally submerged dangerously in the water leaving the smallest little dock for the whole campground to fish from. Sadly unprofessional ownership is causing this campground to be a terrible experience for whoever books it. We had generators with lights running outside our campsite from 4pm-10pm with lights beaming onto our campsite and the noise was unbearably loud for our kids and us to find peace by campfire. Overall the camp was worse we have gone to and will never return!!!! The lake on the other hand is amazing if you have a boat, but stay clear of the many hazards on the lake. Buyer beware!!
