Big Spring Campground Reviews
We had a great time at big springs campground!! The sound of the river was very relaxing, not to mention the fishing. A small in the middle of nowhere campground. Quiet and beautiful. Within short driving distance to some of the best sights in Iowa. I only gave a 4 because the roads to the campground are rough and could be better marked. There cows right next to campground. The trout hatchery was a great experience for the littles with the kids trout fishing ponds. Athe spill way waterfall is beautiful.
Jun 12, 2023 · charity snavelyAlways a good place to camp. We come from 4 hours away just for this place. Beautiful view of the river and fishing is good in campground too. Has new canoe/kayak launch/take out concrete ramp now too. Short walk down to hatchery to fish along the River. Good price for primitive camping also. They do have a Portajohn. They do now also have a small covered area that offers firewood too on an honor system. Please pay for what you get. But also bring some yourself too. Love this place so please respect it and leave it clean or cleaner then you found it.
