Big Lake Campground

Beautiful lake! Love the view of I think Mt Washington. Lake is a good temp and not too deep either. Came on a Saturday mid June and it wasn’t packed with people. My only complaint is the mosquitos were bad! The worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was covered in bites and ended up having to put on cloths so they would stop. They also went for my dog who was covered in little bite bumps. It was nearly unbearable. - Fiona Graham

Big Lake Campground is situated at NF-2690, Sisters, OR 97759, USA. This location places it strategically within the Willamette National Forest, near the charming and popular town of Sisters, Oregon. Sisters itself is a well-known gateway to the Central Oregon Cascades, making the campground accessible from various parts of the state. For Oregon residents, reaching Big Lake Campground involves a scenic drive, typically via Highway 126 to Santiam Pass.

Driving directions are generally clear: From Eugene, take I-105 east to McKenzie Highway 126, then travel east for about 90 miles to Santiam Pass. At the top of the pass, turn right onto the access road (look for signs for Hoodoo Ski Area, Big Lake Road, & Benson Sno-Park). However, it's crucial to note that access is primarily seasonal, typically from May to September, as snow can close roads during the colder months.
