Big Hill Lake Beach Area, Mound Valley Park Reviews
By far my favorite Kansas camping spot! The lake is deep and clear for this area. Fishing was so fun and there are lots of variety in this lake. The sunsets are beautiful and the trees are tall. Definitely provides the true camping atmosphere. There is a wide variety of campsite types with plenty of space in between them. The water is easily accessible, but boat wise only the one launch. We had a great time building sand castles on the beach. The swim area is completely sand and one of the only places here where you can swim with shoes off. The water is a bit chilly because the lake is so deep, but it was super refreshing on a hot day.The campground is well maintained, fire pits are clean and accessible and the bathrooms are clean, though currently out of soap. Showers were warm and clean as well.We saw lots of dog walkers and the kids playing on the playground were having fun. I’ll be returning!

From the many activities of swimming, camping, or just being out on the lake, Big Hill offers a variety of options, even the perfect place to say "I do!" Most areas are free with the exception of the lake, but at the low cost of $5 per car, why would you choose the public pool instead?
