Jun 10, 2025 · Ross A. LovingOur recent visit to Big Falls Campground in Minnesota was a poignant yet peaceful experience, as we stayed there to lay my father to rest at the nearby Veterans cemetery. Despite the somber occasion, the campground's serene environment and exceptional facilities provided us with a comforting stay.Nestled along the stunning Big Fork River, the campground offered breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of the river, creating a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. For our family, this location held a special significance, as my father had always cherished the river's fast-moving waters. Staying at Big Falls Campground felt like a fitting tribute to his memory, allowing us to be close to something he loved so dearly. The well-maintained and level sites were ideal for our RV, and the clean, modern restrooms and showers were a welcome amenity. My son, an avid angler, had a fantastic time fishing from shore and caught an impressive number of bass and northern pike. The historic train bridge in the background added to the picturesque setting. In a time of sorrow, Big Falls Campground provided us with a peaceful and memorable stay. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of the river, which my father loved so much, brought us comfort. We highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a serene and natural setting, coupled with excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Sep 26, 2024 · Cory GrahamI was a horse camper over the weekend. Not impressed. People were driving through constantly in and out that were not camping. Some were dumping fish guts on the road we had to ride on just past the camp site. It was all day long morning-night. The horse trails weren’t marked well at all. We’d take a trail and end up on private property most of the time. We could do the Red and orange diamond trail but the ones on the other side way too wet to pass with horses so there were not 30 miles of trails. Lots of road riding and that road is super crazy busy not to mention the bridge crossing to get over to the other side of trails that were basically swamp and dead ends. I have OnX on my phone otherwise we would have been completely lost. We ended up taking trails that led right into massive private property chunks owned by the same people because of all the poor trail markings. I won’t be back which was super disappointing because I’ve wanted to go for years and it’s only about an hour away. They also sprayed for mosquitoes while we were making dinner and I’m not big on having fogger in my burger or my horses water. To me it wasn’t horse friendly at all. The sites were beautiful and clean but that’s the only good thing I can say about it.
Jun 16, 2025 · Sarah KingIt’s great place. The bathroom and shower are super clean. The campground is so quiet, I liked that. One thing I did not like is there is not much to do or walk around, or hiking. If you are heading up to voyageurs from the Midwest, this is the perfect place to take a rest or spent a night there.
Aug 20, 2021 · Carlos PalaciosNice place to land for the night. Beautiful views, staff was friendly, easy online payment if needed. Bonus points for the showers, it was a nice stay.
