★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A peaceful, family-friendly, and clean campground. The location is fantastic – right by the lake with a small beach that's perfect for relaxing, playing, or swimming. The RV hookups were great, and the site itself was well-maintained.The evening atmosphere was nice; glowing sunset, birds singing, ducks gliding by, the sound of the trees rustling and the gentle lapping of the lake. I can only recommend this place!
May 25 · Roger ProbstWe stayed here during summer 2023. We were lucky to get a spot for a few nights. The sites were great and it was nice to be near the lake. It was peaceful even though it was busy and most campers were respectful of quiet hours. We ended up driving to the day use area to access the beach there since it was a little nicer than the area in front of the campground. The showers could use more attention, they were pretty dirty and the water didn't get very warm. It was strange that you couldn't get in and out after 10pm. Not that we needed to be out late but just wonder about having an emergency and not being able to get back into your campsite. They also aerial sprayed for mosquitos while we were staying there which was a little concerning and I didn't appreciate having chemicals sprayed over top of us. Bear Lake is beautiful and interesting and if you want to stay right on the lake this is a great option.
November 11 · Tara CrosbyWe camped with some friends in a tent. Campsites are decent, with trailer hook ups, camp fire and a table. Trees provide shade so its not unbearably hot all the time. Beach access is outstanding, 90 seconds walking and you are in the water. There are some serious drawbacks though. The restrooms and showers are ROUGH. Not so much dirty but filled with dead and living mosquitos and spiders. I realize you are camping but it was really bad. And did I mention mosquitoes? Oh man. Millions. Bring plenty of bug spray and even then, you are probably going to get eaten alive. Also, if you bring more than one car, they are going to gouge you at the front entrance despite plenty of overflow parking. Not much staff around but there are some older folks who are volunteers that are helpful. Would I stay here again? Only if I were overruled.
June 14 · Kye MoserBeautiful place! Camp sites are clean along with the restrooms and showers. They have full hookups, cabins and tents for rent. Parts of the beaches you're up to your chest in the water with buoys letting you know where the deep end is. If you have a boat or just like playing on the water this place is perfect. The only thing bad was the mosquitoes, I got eaten alive! You gotta reserve in advance, like 6 months to a year. It books up quickly!
June 10 · Sarah DeCost-PassBig Creek had reliable water, sewer, and power access, but the sites were pretty close together for Utah standards, and anything near the creek is FULL of mosquitos! Our whole family is departing with about 20 more bug bites despite lots of incense, bug repellent, and attempting to stay inside in the evenings. The beach is also rocky, mucky, and full of weeds. Seems like the only way to enjoy this lake is on a boat far away from shore. Would not stay again - too many amazing places nearby in Idaho or over towards Flaming Gorge.
