Big Bend Park Introduce
Michigan, a state renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly its vast network of lakes and rivers, offers an unparalleled setting for outdoor recreation. For families and individuals across the Mitten State, the call of the wild often leads to finding that perfect campground where memories are made and adventures unfold. Nestled along the scenic Big Muskegon River, near the impressive Hardy Dam, you'll find Big Bend Park in White Cloud, MI. This beloved campground has been a cherished destination for Michiganders for generations, providing a welcoming environment for everything from a quick overnight stay to an extended family vacation.
Big Bend Park is a testament to Michigan's vibrant camping culture, a place where the sounds of nature blend with the laughter of families enjoying their time together. While some recent experiences have highlighted challenges, such as muddy roads upon arrival and during wet conditions, as one reviewer noted – "Just getting to the campground is a muddy mess and the mud continues once in the campground. It would be really easy to put down some crush and run gravel, it would definitely help with all the mud." – the overall sentiment from many long-time visitors remains overwhelmingly positive. For instance, a family who has been camping there since 2020 shared their delightful Memorial Day weekend experience: "We just camped here over Memorial Day weekend 2023 and what a view we had at lot #78!! Overlooking the Muskegon river! There were activities for kids all weekend and a nice park ranger driving thru frequently over the weekend." This highlights the park's commitment to family-friendly activities, safety, and a pleasant atmosphere, even acknowledging improvements in pest control ("Worms were yucky but not as bad as 3 years ago. They have sprayed since.") and acknowledging dusty roads. Despite these minor points, the dedication to cleanliness ("Bathrooms were ok, but cleaned everyday. Nice staff at entrance!") and the overall welcoming vibe ("Nice neighbors and atmosphere was family friendly. The park was quiet at 10pm and alive around 9am. Will definitely stay again!") speak volumes about why Big Bend Park continues to be a go-to spot for so many Michigan families.

Big Bend Park Reviews
Just a one night stay. Just getting to the campground is a muddy mess and the mud continues once in the campground. It would be really easy to put down some crush and run gravel, it would definitely help with all the mud. Made the reservation on Campspot and upon arrival, the lady seems to be surprised at me checking in, after mentioning I'm in 203 and looking for the dump station. Took her more than 10 minutes to write up a parking sticker, including needing to add my DL to the parking sticker. If this info is need, please ask for this at the online check in and have the parking passes ready and a list of guest checking in, it's really not that difficult and would speed up the process. I was just there one night and didn't use any facilities except the dump station which was fine. Beautiful lake and I'm sure its a nice place, but the mud, good Lord if you like having your RV all muddy then you probably won't mind, but just very disappointed in the conditions of the roads getting to and inside the park.

Jul 21, 2019 · Jake HarrisHad a great weekend up there memorial weekend this year! Stayed here 2 years ago and was a bit turned off by the rudeness of the staff but seems they have worked that out and my family and I had a great weekend! Mark at the point was a great host! Will definitely be back for more shenanigans! Minus a star for not allowing golf carts! 🤣
