This variety allows campers to choose accommodations that best fit their equipment and comfort levels.

Big Bend Family Campground Reviews
A nice cheap family outing. Plenty of playgrounds, so many kids for our kids to play with. Loved the big camp sites with green grass. Everyone super friendly, showers were hot, and we felt they were not strict on the rules, but everyone was courteous to everyone. The not so good was things were run down a little, men’s bathroom 1 out of three toilets out of order, another stall was missing the lock. Playgrounds were run down but still kept our little ones busy. Pool said was heated but didn’t feel like it.The river was clean and clear, plenty of space and would definitely attend again.
Jun 16, 2025 · NoahWent there stayed 3 nights. I have an autistic granddaughter that if she were to be woke up at night, she stays up for hours! 2 of the 3 nights she was woke up several times each night!!!!! The day before we left I finally said something! They did relocate their own employees that were staying in the site next to us! They were very apologetic, but the damage was already done! It’s not family friendly. Also, they advertise things for the kids to do, but don’t supply the materials, or let anyone know to bring them. If you want to stay in a trailer park, this is the place to be. As long as you don’t mind being woke up at all hours of the night!

Sep 30, 2023 · Krystal ColeWent to big bend camp grounds to partake in the 2nd annual big bend car show. Was my 1st time ever there. It seems to be a nice campground right on the river, and from what I understand, they have a lot of activities throughout the season like car shows, mud bogs, and other things. Nice place!!!
May 04, 2025 · Scott RobinsonHad a great time with a large group (around 30 adults) that included several pop-ups, a trailer, and quite a few tents. Group site 4 is beautiful, right on the river with lots of room for a huge campfire and a few yard games. It's at the back of the campground, so there's little foot or golf cart traffic. We did not have water or electric. That is a drawback for me, but we used a couple generators as needed. I arrived on a Thursday and stayed till Sunday. There were 3 port-a- potties near the site that were used by all the sites near the back. They were just cleaned and emptied when I arrived and were wiped down each day and more TP was brought in. So, they weren't horrible but they gross me out, no matter what, especially as the weekend went on and they got fuller and fuller. There was a centrally located bathhouse, also kept clean and stocked with TP. 2 of 3 soap dispensers were empty the entire time I was there. I didn't shower, but I believe there were 4 showers in total to share between male and female. They do require quarters and are cold for the most part (I heard). I chose to use the baby wipes I brought. I went there to go tubing down the Rifle River. That was a blast! I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first time ever tubing down a river. I can definitely say I will 100% do that again any time I get a chance! They have a great system in place for that activity. You could canoe or kayak as well. Rentals are available, but I would definitely bring my own tube as the rental selection was pretty slim pickins. As for the canoes and kayaks, they looked fine but I didn't use one so can't say. One does not need to stay at the campground to use the river activities. Parking is available for daily use. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Considering the massive flooding this past spring, the campground was in great shape. There is also a small lake with a cute beach and an in-ground pool. I observed a few people swimming in the lake. I didn't check out the pool. Many sites do have water and electrical hookup.
