Bennett Field Group Camp is uniquely situated at 5RQM+79, Daytona Beach, FL 32124, USA. While the address places it near Daytona Beach, it's crucial for local Floridians to understand that this campground is intentionally "way off the beaten path." This deliberate seclusion is a key part of its primitive charm, but it also means that accessibility requires a bit of planning and the right vehicle. The camp is accessed via a long dirt road, which has been described by visitors as "terrible," "washboard," having "soft sandy spots," and "some potholes." This road condition is a significant factor to consider, particularly for those with campers or trailers, as it "will shake your camper to pieces" if not approached with caution.
Due to the road conditions, a vehicle with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) is highly recommended, especially after it rains, as 2WD vehicles might struggle with soft sandy spots. Traditional GPS systems may also lead you astray, getting you "turned around and lost." Therefore, it is absolutely essential to follow the specific directions provided in your reservation confirmation. Furthermore, reviewing the campground on Google Earth prior to your visit can provide invaluable insight into the terrain and help you visualize your route, preventing potential misdirection. Despite these challenges, the effort to reach Bennett Field is rewarded with a genuinely quiet and secluded camping experience that feels far removed from the urban sprawl, making it an ideal retreat for adventurous Floridians.

Bennett Field Group Camp Reviews
Campground is great, HOWEVER the road coming into the Campground is TERRIBLE ‼️. It will shake your camper to pieces!!Pit toilet was as clean as I have ever seen. Large sites, fire rings, picnic table, trash containers.
Apr 02, 2025 · Angela DeckardNice place for a quiet stay. Sites are for the most part pretty level, maintained, and spaced far apart. There are no amenities as this is primitive camping only. Nice hiking and biking trails. Way off the beaten path down a long dirt road, washboard, soft sandy spots, and some pot holes. 2WD could probably make it, but not a good idea after it rains. AWD and 4WD recommended. After making your reservation, you'll be provided a gate code. LOCK THE GATE as they've had issues with homeless taking over the campground in the past. Park staff easy to communicate with. Rangers patrolled while we were there. 5 stars for the facility. 3 stars for the road in. GPS will get you turned around and lost! Follow the directions provided in your reservation confirmation and look up the campground on google earth so you have an idea of where you're going before you get there. We really enjoyed our time there!

Sep 19, 2023 · Jon BergerAbout 4 miles on a dirt road, only a pit toilet, no hookups, pumpout, sinks, but quite lovely. Can still kinda hear I95 in the distance at night. Very, very large campsites.
Jan 12, 2024 · Chris PerleOur great stop on our way to Saint Augustine. The pilgrimage ambience.
