Bell Bay Campground is strategically located on the southeast shores of Coeur d'Alene Lake, just a short drive north of the charming town of Harrison, Idaho. Its official address is Bell Bay Rd, Harrison, ID 83833, USA. While it feels wonderfully secluded, it remains easily accessible for those coming from various parts of Idaho.
For many Idahoans, reaching Bell Bay involves a picturesque drive through some of the state's most beautiful landscapes. The campground features two distinct loops: an upper loop perched on a hill, often used for group camping, and a lower loop that sits along the shoreline. Both offer excellent views of the lake, providing campers with their preferred level of intimacy with the water. Access to the lake from the lower loop is straightforward, with paths leading to the docks and swimming areas. It's important to note that while the campground is generally accessible, some trails to the lake or within the campground can be steep, so visitors should plan accordingly.

Jun 24, 2025 · torsten borlinFantastic old school Forrest Service Campground perched above the lake and bathed in ample shade from the trees! Amazing swim dock for cooling off in the lake. Clean spacious campsites. About 15 minutes driving to reach Harrison for supplies.
Jul 19, 2024 · Kenny GrossBeautiful campground (lower loop) and views. Clean, nice camp host, very quiet. Access to the lake by a trail at the lower loop.NOTE: If you’re pulling an RV be aware of the last few miles (paved after the dirt), as the road is big enough for you and that’s it. Nowhere to pull to the side if you were to meet another RV coming up/down. Would be a very interesting situation.Park service also needs to cut back the bushes as there are a lot of blind corners. Will stay here again.
Jul 05, 2023 · Sleep NeverWe planned to spend three nights here but the smoke from Oregon suddenly appeared and we left after one night. We were so sorry not to be able to say good buy to our fantastic hosts Keith and Caroline. They were so helpful and fun. They went out of their way to accommodate us. I hope somehow they see this review and understand why we disappeared. We are Erika and Andy Kalman from Ann Arbor Michigan. The campground has access to the lake and although the water was cold it refreshed us on the hot day. The upper loop had been closed and the lower loop had only a few sites so we were lucky to get the last spot when arrived around 2 pm.This campground was recommended to us by our daughter who stayed here in June with her family.
Sep 21, 2020 · Erika KalmanNice place to camp, very quiet and clean. The bathrooms are all long drop toilets but are well maintained by the hosts daily. Visiting in July there were mosquitoes but that was expected as it is in the forest. The few downsides were; the road to get to the campground was quite long and were on skinny, windy roads. Also, it was nice to have water access but in order to get to the water you would have to walk down a steep hill and all that was at the bottom were 2 docks and no beach. But in the town of Harrison not too far away there are quite a few beautiful beaches. I highly recommend Carlin Bay Beach in Harrison, Idaho!
