★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Stunning campsite. Amazing views. Great eating location. The path to the lake is gentle but you have to keep following it to the south. We were there in early September and Heart Lake was warm and wonderful. You can see the hot springs shooting steam in the distance. The sunrise was amazing. Also, privy!!
September 24 · Christopher ThiryGreat place to see moose, elk, beaver, eagle, and bear. The campsite overlooks Heart Lake just 100 yards north of the mouth of Beaver Creek. Use caution if hiking in solo, dense forest in some areas. Have your bear spray. I was solo and made sure any bear could hear me coming and could move away from the trail before we could have an encounter. I was there late August and enjoyed hearing the Elk bugle at sunset. The echo across the lake was amazing as a half dozen bull elk called out. Share your experience. JB
