Beauty Creek Campground

7500 Beauty Crk Rd, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814, USA

4.0
We really enjoyed our time here. The first 12 or so camp spots are very close together with no privacy and place to pull your car in, so be aware of this is you’re reserving a spot. However we still loved the area, the open lawn was awesome to play catch in and the valley is gorgeous at sunset. Walking to and from the car could be annoying but we definitely got our steps in. Also NO BUGS! We never so a mosquito or were bothered by flies at the site; probably due to the creek being dried up but it was very nice to not have to use bug spray. The camp host was also the nicest and coolest host I’ve ever met and she made our time there even better. Would stay again. - Laurana Anderson

Beauty Creek Campground Introduce

Nestled in a stunning valley just a stone's throw from the vibrant city of Coeur d'Alene, Beauty Creek Campground offers a serene and refreshing escape into the heart of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. This charming campground provides a tranquil setting that belies its convenient proximity to one of Idaho's most popular recreation hubs. Whether you're a seasoned camper seeking peaceful solitude, a family looking for a relaxing base for adventure, or simply someone yearning to unwind amidst breathtaking natural beauty, Beauty Creek Campground is a destination that consistently exceeds expectations. Its reputation for exceptional hospitality and a remarkably pleasant environment, even without a flowing creek, is frequently highlighted by enthusiastic visitors, cementing its status as a must-visit spot in Northern Idaho.

The allure of Beauty Creek Campground lies in its unique blend of accessibility and a profound sense of peacefulness. Imagine waking to the quiet rustling of leaves and the sight of "gorgeous" valley sunsets, rather than the buzz of city life. While some campgrounds can feel crowded, Beauty Creek offers a distinct advantage with its "nice spacing" between sites, ensuring a sense of privacy even when the campground is bustling. This thoughtful layout contributes significantly to the overall tranquil vibe that many campers seek. Furthermore, the often-noted absence of bothersome insects, particularly mosquitoes, provides an added layer of comfort, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the outdoor experience without constant distraction.

What truly sets Beauty Creek Campground apart is the exceptional dedication of its staff, particularly the camp hosts. Numerous reviews emphasize the "nicest and coolest host" and "incredibly kind—laid-back but attentive" individuals who genuinely care about maintaining a positive atmosphere. This personal touch elevates the camping experience from merely a place to sleep to a welcoming community where visitors feel valued and cared for. Despite the curious naming that suggests a prominent water feature, and the fact that "there is absolutely no creek or water access" (as one review aptly puts it), the overwhelming sentiment is one of satisfaction, underscoring the campground's other numerous appealing qualities that more than compensate for the absence of a flowing stream.

Location and Accessibility

Beauty Creek Campground is conveniently located at 7500 Beauty Crk Rd, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814, USA. This prime location places it just a short drive—approximately a half mile from Lake Coeur d'Alene—from the bustling heart of Coeur d'Alene, one of Northern Idaho's most vibrant cities. This exceptional proximity means that campers can enjoy the serenity of a forested retreat while having easy access to urban amenities, dining, and a wide array of recreational opportunities that the city and Lake Coeur d'Alene offer. The balance between seclusion and accessibility is a significant draw for many visitors.

Accessing the campground is generally straightforward. From Coeur d'Alene, travelers typically head east on I-90 to exit 22, then turn south on ID-97. After approximately 2.5 miles, a left turn onto Forest Road 438 leads directly to the campground within about a mile. While some reviews mention "huge potholes" or roads that are "very rutted" and "tight with overgrowth" on the approach, these descriptions seem to refer to parts of Forest Road 438, not necessarily the entire journey from ID-97. For most vehicles, including RVs and trailers, the route is manageable, though larger rigs might need to navigate some spots with extra care. Campsites are generally accommodating for various sizes of RVs and tents, with paved parking spurs and ample space. The campground's setting in a narrow valley, surrounded by heavily wooded hillsides, adds to its picturesque charm, making the drive an integral part of the scenic experience.

The strategic location of Beauty Creek Campground, less than a mile from the Mineral Ridge boat ramp and popular hiking trailheads like Caribou Ridge, further enhances its appeal. This means immediate access to Lake Coeur d'Alene for boating, fishing, and kayaking, as well as miles of scenic trails for hiking and biking, all without extensive travel from your campsite. This combination of natural beauty, recreational access, and convenient proximity to a major urban center makes Beauty Creek Campground an incredibly accessible and desirable destination for those exploring Idaho.
