Barney's Campground is wonderfully situated within the Boise National Forest, specifically at Forest Rd 555JA, Cascade, ID 83611, USA. This address places it directly in the heart of Idaho's stunning central mountains, renowned for their vast forests, pristine lakes, and abundant recreational opportunities. Cascade, a charming town located on the shores of Lake Cascade, serves as a popular gateway to this outdoor paradise.
The campground's location offers exceptional accessibility, particularly for those looking to enjoy Lake Cascade. It boasts "great access to the water" and a "great beach," making it incredibly convenient for campers eager to swim, kayak, paddleboard, or simply relax by the lake. The sites themselves offer "amazing views" of the surrounding natural landscape and the shimmering lake, providing a picturesque backdrop for your camping experience.
Access to Barney's Campground is via Forest Road 555JA. While precise details on the road condition aren't provided, being within a National Forest and accessible by RV (as implied by some reviews) suggests that the roads leading to the campground are generally manageable for most vehicles, though they may be unpaved in sections. The location being close to Cascade means that essential services such as gas, groceries, and local dining options are within a reasonable driving distance, providing a balance between wilderness immersion and practical conveniences.
One important note on accessibility, as highlighted by a reviewer, is that the campground does not have a separate exit from its entrance. This means campers should be aware that the road in is also the road out, and larger rigs might need to plan their turns within the campground accordingly to avoid needing to turn around in individual campsites. Despite this minor navigational quirk, the overall consensus points to an easily findable location with rewarding natural beauty.

Barney's Campground Reviews
we used camp spot #5. it has great access to the water. great beach. we were right by the bathrooms as well. we couldn't find the water pump in the camp site at all, so bring your own.
Jul 29, 2023 · Alicia TaylorThis place was beautiful! I would recommend a sign outside the campground that states the campground does not have an exit other than the one entered from. We were in campground 8 and so many people had to turn around in our camp because they thought the site went the way through. The restrooms were clean. The one bathroom has some glow in the dark faces painted in it that someone did sneaky. My kids loved it, some might he creeped out by it. 😉 The sites were clean and easy to find and have amazing views. We were so happy with our stay.
Jul 27, 2019 · Rena RhodesWe love Deadwood. Not so much Barney's #6. It said you could fit a 20 foot trailer, but the ground was so uneven that we never could get our trailer level.
Aug 25, 2021 · Paige TurnbowFishing was great! Camp site great! Little to much wind but wonderful!
