We were really looking forward to our return trip to Arapahoe Valley Ranch after having an amazing experience back in 2020 when it was owned by Emily and Todd. That visit felt special—personal, warm, and filled with genuine hospitality. Unfortunately, the ranch has changed hands since then, and so has the overall experience. Our reservation this year was for July 3–6, but on June 25, I called to let them know I was facing a potential miscarriage and had been advised by my doctor not to travel and to stay close to medical care. I was met with zero compassion or flexibility. The woman I spoke with made it clear there would be no refund or rescheduling under any circumstance. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I followed up multiple times and never received a response.I understand that businesses have policies, but there are moments when empathy and basic human decency should take precedence. I wasn’t asking for special treatment—just a little understanding during a deeply emotional and medical crisis. If you’re considering a stay here, I strongly urge you to be prepared for zero flexibility in the face of any life emergency. What was once a place of warmth and community now feels transactional and cold under new ownership. I’m heartbroken not just because we couldn’t go, but because the place we once loved so much no longer reflects the values it once held. - Brooke Moumen
