Andover / Pymatuning Lake KOA Holiday Reviews
If you’ve been to any other KOA, you’ll likely be disappointed by this one. I’m not sure how they keep the name on the sign.Staff of two, sometimes three, running 200 site campground. Sites were swamps (it rained in May, who’d have thought?) with huge ruts, extremely tight site access. Dumpsters overflowing, pool empty, not at all what it appears on the website. The other campers were the silver lining of the trip. Very friendly group.I’m dumbfounded by the positive reviews. I can only assume a large number of the positive reviewers have not been to other KOAs, or reviewed this one before it was in its current state.I did find another review from an individual around the same time last year who had an identical experience excepting that I did not have electrical issues. We ultimately had a nice weekend despite the campground, but wanted to leave this review as a warning to others who may be misguided by the overwhelmingly positive reviews.
May 27, 2025 · kurtWe had a fantastic experience at this campground. It was great for the kids with a safe atmosphere and lots of activities. I was also very impressed with the lifeguard. She was so positive and kind in her interactions and made sure to enforce the rules. There was zero tolerance for adults with glass or smoking in the pool area which was much appreciated. We're all there to have a good time and be safe.
Jul 08, 2024 · Brandi McCrayStayed in our Travel Trailer. Sites had high grass, poor drainage, very hard to get leveled. Staying level was difficult, as our leveling blocks sank into the ground. The pool was closed, which was not disclosed. When speaking to the person at the desk, they were not very sympathetic, and only offered to refund our money so we can leave. Not really a solution or concession, since we were already there, and it was memorial day weekend. The power went out in our row of lots no less than 4 times while we stayed (Friday through Monday). Luckily, we were able to plug in to the lots behind ours, as there were quite a few vacancies.Getting in and out of the sites was extremely difficult, as there are culverts on each side of the entrance to the site. The site entrance was only as wide as a single lane, as well as the roads. I watched on as most everyone had a difficult time navigating the very tight spaces. The electrical and water sources are very far away from where you park. Most of our neighbors were stretched to their maximum lengths to reach.Due to the power issues, we asked for a late checkout for the inconvenience. Their standard checkout time is 11am. I was told "we can give you a 1pm checkout time, and won't charge for that", like they were doing me a huge favor. This is the same person who offered to refund me so we can leave, take that as you will. The staff, mostly, were friendly and present, but seemed uninterested in some of the issues we faced.Overall, this was the worst KOA experience we've had in our relatively short camping time, and doubtful we will rebook this location. There are many campgrounds nearby. We asked some local businesses theirs thoughts on this location, and we received reviews that ranged from hearing nothing good, to just downright bad. Based on our experience, I would have to think they were being truthful. At 90 dollars a night, there was certainly a lot left to be desired.Hope this review helps you as well.
May 28, 2024 · Derek JeffreyVery clean with sizable lots, family friendly. Bath house often doesn't have hot water though. Many activities closed due to COVID.Update 05/2025 from 3 stars to 5There have been a lot of upgrades, enhanced sites with patios, etc. In the summer, there are quite a few activities for the kids. The showers now have lots of hot water.
May 11, 2025 · Jason M. BullWe had a BLAST at this KOA! We went just to see our friends band and we met so many nice people, both camper and staff! One downside was the tight entrances into the camping spots due to culverts on each side. We saw several unable to, or have a VERY hard time getting into their spots. If culverts were full of large gravel, rigs would have no issues and culverts would still do their job. Some sites not very level, as ours was not, but we still had a great time!!
