The Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday is strategically located at 8275 Warner St, Allendale, MI 49401, USA. This placement offers a convenient balance between the peaceful countryside and accessibility to some of West Michigan's most popular destinations.
The campground sits "deep in the countryside," providing a tranquil retreat, yet it remains highly accessible. It's conveniently positioned between two major West Michigan hubs: Grand Rapids and Grand Haven. Grand Rapids, known for its vibrant arts scene, breweries, and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library & Museum, is just a short drive away. Holland, another popular lakeside city with its Dutch heritage, is also within easy reach.
Access to the campground from major interstates is straightforward. From Grand Rapids, campers can take I-96 West toward Muskegon, then take Exit 16 (toward CR B35/Coopersville), turn left onto 68th Ave, and then right on Warner St to reach the KOA, a journey of about 6 miles from the exit. This easy navigation makes it simple for visitors from across Michigan and neighboring states to arrive without hassle. While the campground offers a feeling of being "nestled deep in the countryside," its strategic location ensures that all the attractions, dining, and shopping of West Michigan are just a "skip, hop, and a jump" away, making it an excellent base for exploring the region.
The Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday provides a comprehensive range of services designed to make every camper's stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, embodying the "Holiday" standard of the KOA brand.
Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers a variety of RV sites, including those with full hookups (water, sewer, and electric with 20/30/50 amp service). Many sites are large enough to accommodate "big rigs" and some even feature KOA Patio® sites for enhanced outdoor living space.
Diverse Lodging Options: Beyond RV and tent sites, the KOA provides various lodging options. These include Camping Cabins (rustic, no bathroom, some with AC), and Deluxe Cabins which come equipped with full bathrooms (including tub and shower) and fully-equipped kitchens for a "home away from home" feel. This variety caters to different preferences and needs, from traditional campers to those seeking more comforts.
Well-Maintained Restrooms and Showers: While some specific reviews mention a "vibe" that felt off, overall KOA standards typically ensure clean and functional bathhouse facilities. Reports often praise KOA showers for being clean and convenient, crucial for an enjoyable camping experience.
On-Site Camp Store: A well-stocked camp store is available, offering essentials such as affordable firewood (addressing Michigan's EAB concerns by providing local, borer-free wood), propane, and other camping supplies. This convenience means campers don't have to leave the park for last-minute necessities.
Laundry Facilities: For extended stays, on-site laundry facilities are a significant convenience, allowing campers to refresh their clothing without leaving the campground.
Propane Sales: Propane is available for purchase, ensuring that RVers can easily refill their tanks for cooking and heating needs.
Wi-Fi Access: Wi-Fi is generally available across the campground, although some reviews note it can be "spotty" or "limited." While not always perfect for streaming, it typically suffices for basic internet needs.
Pet-Friendly with KampK9®: The campground welcomes pets, featuring two fenced KampK9® dog runs and trails for furry friends. This allows pet owners to exercise their animals responsibly and provides a dedicated space for pets to play.
Extended Stay Options: For those looking for longer stays, the KOA offers seasonal (6 months) and monthly rates, making it an attractive option for people working in the area or those who wish to spend an entire season exploring West Michigan. The campground is also open all year, offering flexibility for winter campers.
The Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday distinguishes itself with a robust array of features and activities designed to keep all ages entertained and engaged throughout their stay.

Fishing Ponds: The campground features three ponds that are stocked with fish, allowing residents to enjoy catch-and-release fishing right on-site. This is a popular activity for all ages and adds to the serene, natural ambiance.
Recreational Activities & Sports Courts: A wide range of activities are available, including volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and Ga-Ga Ball. These facilities encourage outdoor recreation and friendly competition among campers.
Glow-Ride Hay Wagon Rides: A unique and popular feature is the "famous glow-ride hay-wagon ride," often operating on weekend evenings. While some reviews mention the music can be loud, it's a generally fun amenity that brings campers together and creates a lively atmosphere.
Family-Friendly Entertainment: The campground hosts various weekend activities, including "Water Wars" and an air-soft shooting range, providing structured fun for both children and adults. There are also goats to visit, adding a charming farm-like element.

Tent sites are often secluded and within walking distance to facilities, allowing for a more traditional camping feel. Lots are deep and wide, providing ample room.

Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday Reviews
I have been to many KOAs and this one is at the bottom of my list for great locations to stay at. When I arrived I was instantly waved to slow down even though I was barely over the speed limit posted of 4.93…..The cabin I stayed in was nice, but could use some TLC. TV did not work (just static) and the WiFi did not work sadly as well. The whole vibe of this place felt off and the staff constantly going by on golf carts just felt even more strange. Kinda felt like I was being watched. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay that is more welcoming.
Jul 03, 2025 · Rachel LeMasterA nice KOA, but some strange rules. We were required to have a bracelet indicating that we were registered campers everywhere we go, either wearing it or on our person. Not necessarily difficult just inconvenient, especially when you're staying multiple days. Having to worry about the bracelet when you take a quick trip to the bathroom or camp store, or going to the various amenities isn't something I would have wanted to worry about on my vacation. They also had a hay wagon ride going around the camp, which is a fun amenity, but music they were playing was very loud. We were able to hear the music from the other side of the park so once it circled around to our site it was felt very overwhelming. The ride operated from 7pm-9pm, it was difficult to enjoy our campfire with the constant music. Internet is also quite spotting.
Jun 07, 2025 · Malachi JanzEasy to get to. We stayed a couple nights in March so they didn't have the pool, office, bathroom, and laundry open. We didn't see any staff except the guy who filled our propane tank. It was quiet and had lots of trees. There were areas to play games and go for a walk. The lots were only backin but were flat and average size. We'd probably go back.
Apr 12, 2025 · Linda AndreLOVED the location. Off the beaten path. Close to family and Michigan Adventure. Amazing staff (LOVE the Mohawk dude!!!) we will DEF be coming back!!!! Thanks for the hospitality!!!
Jun 20, 2025 · Kristen SpringerAfter reading other campers horrible reviews about the staff and facilities of this KOA I was highly motivated so share my 5 star review. We live in Allendale so this was a great location that still felt like we were away. Yes the roads are dirt but you’re camping. Yes some things are not perfect but you are camping. Yes the speed limit is slow but you are camping around a bunch of young children. With the HIGHLY enforced speed limit I felt at complete ease to let my kids have free rein to explore the whole campground solo. The service and staff are so friendly (of course unless you don’t follow the enforced rules.. welcome to being an adult lol). The passion and vision are there when you chat with the owner, who is super kind. We overall had an amazing experience and will gladly come back.
