Agua Caliente Campground Reviews
Site #102. Desert campground in Anza Borrego State Park with clean flush toilets and hot showers. There are 3 pools filled with geo-thermally heated water from the hot springs. The campground is a mix of full hook-up sites, primitive tent sites and cabins. Campground is closed during the summer months due to the extreme desert temperatures. The several hiking trails that start in the campground and travel through the desert landscape are best explored in the morning or at dusk to avoid the desert heat.
May 10, 2025 · Paul GrenierGreat place to camp. We've camped here for long weekends twice. There are 3 pools from the natural spring: children pool 2.5 feet deep, larger pool for everyone 3.5-5.0 feet deep, indoor heated pool for 14 year olds & older.
May 28, 2025 · Cameron FAs far as campgrounds go, I'd say this has been the best in the San Diego area that I visited. Having the mineral water pools, fed from natural hot springs, was a great amenity that myself and my 9yo enjoyed. They were very refreshing on a warm desert day. It's also very close to the Palm Springs historical market and the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves. No cell service can be had at the campground but that didn't matter as we were there to get away from the busyness of the city.
May 24, 2024 · Aaron BrlasOur favorite place to hike and camp. The place is well maintained. You can put up a tent, rent a cabin or bring your RV. We chose the partial hook up so we have the water and electricity in our campsite for $64. The place is quiet and the people we met were friendly, respectful and considerate. They follow the rules. The bathrooms are clean, no lines, you need quarters for showers $1.50 per 15 minutes. There are family bathrooms where you have the shower and toilet and baby diaper changing station this helps if you have little ones with you. You can bring your dogs and they have designated areas to walk the dogs. There are lots of coyotes so keep them indoors if you are going to the pool. No dogs allowed in the pool areas or the coyotes will snatch your fur babies. No cell or wifi connection so download all your songs or movies prior to checking in. There is a small general store 2 miles down the road and they just have the basic camping needs. There is a cell reception in that area too. There are 2 pools outside for all ages and 1 indoors for 14+. Pools are clean and maintained. It looks full of people all the time but people only stay in 15+20 at a time because it is very warm. I feel relaxed and ready for a nap after 15 mins. There are jets all around the pool to massage your back. The Rangers are available nearby and all were very friendly and helpful. Check the weather and especially if it's windy you may need to bring weights for your tent or canopy and extra ropes. The wind can go up to 35-65 mph on some days. The place is close from Memorial Day to Labor Day and they get booked right away so plan ahead.
