Agency Lake Resort is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience designed for relaxation and reconnection with nature. Unlike bustling, amenity-heavy resorts, it emphasizes the inherent entertainment of its natural surroundings—the vast lake, the serene willows, and the abundant wildlife. Whether you choose a clean and comfortable cabin, an RV site on lush green grass, or a cozy tent spot, the focus here is on providing a peaceful environment where you can truly unwind. Agency Lake Resort is situated at 37000 Modoc Point Rd, Chiloquin, OR 97624, USA, directly on the western shore of Agency Lake. Agency Lake itself is the northern arm of the much larger Upper Klamath Lake, located in Klamath County, Oregon. This puts the resort in a prime position to offer stunning lake views and direct access to its waters.
The resort’s address places it within Neptune Park, indicating a designated area that likely contributes to its maintained appearance and access. Access to the resort is generally straightforward. While a review mentions "heavy traffic on the gravel road 15' from our tents blazed by at 50 mph all night long," which points to a potential issue for certain tent sites, the overall accessibility to the resort itself, off Modoc Point Road, appears to be relatively easy. Chiloquin is a small community, and Modoc Point Road is a recognized route in the area. For those traveling from various parts of Oregon, the drive offers scenic vistas of rural landscapes and forested areas, leading directly to the peaceful lakeside setting of the resort.

It is always recommended to call ahead, especially during peak seasons, to inquire about availability, specific site details, and any current rules or policies, as some guests have noted occasional misunderstandings regarding reservations or specific site rules. The owners and staff are reportedly very responsive and helpful via phone. Operating hours typically align with daylight hours for check-ins, but specific office hours may vary seasonally.
For Oregonians seeking a genuine and restorative escape, Agency Lake Resort in Chiloquin is exceptionally well-suited. We, as locals, often yearn for those tranquil spots that allow us to truly unplug and appreciate the unparalleled natural beauty of our state, without necessarily needing a bustling hub of manufactured entertainment. Agency Lake Resort delivers this in spades.
The resort’s emphasis on "peaceful and quiet" surroundings, coupled with its "luscious green grass" and the "entire Lake to play on and swim in," perfectly aligns with the Oregonian ethos of outdoor enjoyment. We understand that the greatest entertainment often lies just outside our cabin or tent door—the serene beauty of the lake, the joy of watching our "canine friend" roll in the grass, or the simple pleasure of a good night's sleep after a day spent by the water. This focus on natural engagement over artificial attractions is a significant draw for those of us who value genuine connection with our environment.
While one review noted a "grumpy hostess" and issues with "secret rules" regarding tent sites and traffic noise, the overwhelming sentiment points to "fabulous" and "helpful" owners and staff who go out of their way to ensure comfort. This dedication to guest satisfaction is a quality Oregonians appreciate, as it contributes to a welcoming and reliable experience. The potential for heavy traffic noise on some tent sites is a valid consideration, but the option of cabins or RV sites further from the road, combined with the resort's overall positive attributes, often outweighs this minor drawback.
Furthermore, Agency Lake’s reputation for "world-class fishing" is a huge draw for our local anglers, providing ample opportunities to pursue trophy redband trout. Its proximity to other natural attractions like the Wood River Wetlands also adds to its appeal for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, allowing for diverse outdoor activities without extensive travel.
In essence, Agency Lake Resort offers Oregonians a truly authentic, pet-friendly, and deeply relaxing lakeside retreat. It's a place where the soul can find peace, the body can recharge, and the beauty of Southern Oregon can be fully embraced. For any local seeking an escape that offers comfort, tranquility, and direct access to one of Oregon's beautiful lakes, Agency Lake Resort is a hidden gem that promises a truly memorable stay.

Agency Lake Resort Reviews
The resort was a welcome site for me .. I have been wanting to get away to someplace peaceful and quiet. The owners were fabulous and were more than helpful and courteous. They made sure that everything was comfortable for me and my canine friend. The cabin was VERY clean and VERY comfortable. They had everything there that I needed and even had coffee in their store.(I forgot mine) The property has luscious green grass not some dirt or slab park. Agency Lake Resort offers you a wide variety of entertainment. You just have to have a little imagination and not think that you are in a place that has to entertain you with playgrounds, swimming pools and lounges... You have the entire Lake to play on and swim in and the beauty of all of it is better feeling than you get from a lounge. So get off those phones, take out that do-up-hair-do and go out and see the beauty that is right out the cabin door. They have all the comforts you need to really enjoy your stay and a great staff that works hard to make your stay a great stay. I truly enjoyed my stay ... My Missy had so much fun rolling around in the grass.. she found perfume.. fishy smelling but all clean and it was great to see her have so much fun rolling around. We sure slept good!!!! So go ahead stay here and enjoy the time, you deserve it and this place is just what the soul needs.
May 26, 2017 · Velda PalenGrumpy hostess doesn't take reservations but will take your name (whatever that means). She greeted me by demanding to know if I'd called ahead (I had). After I paid, she marched over and demanded only one tent per site (again, fine, but a secret rule and now $45 in stead of $15). She wouldn't let us use sites further from the road although they were empty and stayed that way. Heavy traffic on the gravel road 15' from our tents blazed by at 50 mph all night long. Host was delightful, but most of my interactions were with hostess. Facilities were clean. Lake and willows serene. Decent and clean bathrooms and showers. I think if I'd been allowed to camp further from road, it would have been lovely.
Jul 21, 2016 · Dylan LeemanThe couple who own the resort are very friendly. Unfortunately, they no longer provide the advertised amenities. No boats, bathroom aren't open, etc. The place is for sale and they can no longer accommodate. Their are millions of tiny insects and spiders that infiltrate your RV and keep you from going outside. There was an algae bloom in the lake that made the lake water poisonous. Best to not fish or walk your dogs there. There are lots of beautiful birds. The Woodriver wetlands are beautiful and it's close to Crater Lake.
Jul 11, 2019 · Nanetta & Norman LandryFound out after we arrived that the lake was totally poisonous! Lucky we didn't have a pet. Also discovered that the pictures showing an oven were only for people who chose to go outside for a bathroom. Since ours had a bathroom (with a communal shower), no oven. No A/C, no ice trays, no TV, you get skimpy towels once a week whether you need them or not. Be careful booking a cabin since the lakeview could be taken by an RV. On the plus side they were both helpful in local information and it was quiet and clean.
Sep 16, 2016 · Jim OrnatGood location right on the lake, convenient to Crater Lake and Klamath Falls. The park had good upgraded hookups and the owners are very friendly and accomodating. The lake had a lot of weeds and grass when we were there, plus loads and loads of little annoying bugs that infiltrated the RV any time a door was opened. Could not sit outside because of the bugs plus when we were there it was very very hot.
