Acorn Campground Reviews
At this time of year it gets to just over 70° and the water is very cool! The campsites are always well maintained and the park rangers make regular rounds. The lake is gorgeous but if your not entering from a boat slip then most access requires water shoes. The serpentine that lines a lot of the lake can be jagged so keep an eye on your little ones. A beautiful camp ground for nature walks, swimming, fishing, and boating.
Apr 20, 2025 · Sean RobideauxThis place is great for camping and lake fun. You can fish and launch your boat. Be cautious this place is very hot. It's great for kids and families. The grounds are very well maintained. The Park rangers are kind, very friendly, and helpful. There is a super plus about this place they have real bathrooms with running water and showers. Now the shower water isn't hot, hot water but it is doable and very refreshing. This is my families 2nd year coming and they love it. So for us 10/10. Will recommend 👌🏾 Love this place ❤️ 😍 🙌🏾 🏕⛺️🚙
Jun 02, 2025 · Kyshadah Mc Gowan-SmithThe campsites gave ample space and access to facilities. Spaces have a pole and hook, table and fire ring with a grate. Most spaces, however, were not well leveled. Our picnic table was so sloped that we could not set out fruit or water bottles without them rolling away or falling over. The showers were good, though we had some lights not working on the men and women's side while we stayed. The showers are oversized and better than most other campsites. The restrooms, however, were not very clean. There was a lot of dirt, leftover clothes and a broken door.A few water spouts are available throughout the site, but the water quality is markedly worse than most campgrounds. The lake is nice and the ground for the tents was nice to sleep on.Overall, this place as okay if you're passing through this out of the way place, but otherwise it's not worth going out of your way to stay here.
May 07, 2025 · Anthony HowardWhat an enjoyable quick getaway. We had lot 82 which was within distance of a restroom and the lake and a shared faucet. The lot had a grill, decent trees for shade, uncovered picnic bench. Dogs are permitted with a leash, I’d advise to bring a longer leash for your fur friend. In the women’s restroom there are two stalls and one shower with decent shower pressure and temp. We stayed from Friday til Sunday which was a nice balance. Early morning you may meet friendly deers, late nights frogs, who also like to camp out in restroom toilets. Our neighbors were quite noisy til two to three am and packed one lot with several families, my only complaint when they aren’t respecting the quiet zone time. Other than that, I enjoyed the weekend stay.
May 18, 2024 · CrystalThis place is amazing. Great place for RV and Camper staying. Each site has parking, picnic table and most have a grill and tall hook (we used it for an area light at night). However, we stayed in a tent. Most spots are a bit slopped for tents (especially larger tents) but ours was large and flat enough we didn't have any issues. Bathrooms were relatively clean and decently maintained. The water is not drinkable but there is running water. The presence of rabbits and deer was a treat for the kids.
