Campground, Children's camp ★4.0

Elaine and the rest of the staff made this the perfect birthday getaway from Chicago. My friends and I had a blast in the large cabin. $5 bundles of firewood were stocked and included cardboard/flyers for kindling. The grounds were clean and well-kept. Spacious cabin with private bath, plenty of beds, and with only three of us, we could borrow some mattresses from unused bunks to give ourselves plushier sleeping arrangements. We had a raccoon walk around our site three nights in a row while we were out by the fire. He was harmless and just looking for snacks. Got close but wasn’t aggressive. We named him Randy and wish him well.We look forward to our next trip! - Nick McDowell
